Please join us for wine, cheese and conversation as we support our good friend and neighbor Linda Habgood for Town Council. Linda aims to engage voters, energize downtown Westfield, and ensure that we think innovatively about how our Town makes and spends money. Please join us--Linda wants to hear from you as she kicks off her Fall campaign! Linda is running with mayoral candidate Shelley Brindle, who will also be at the event. Linda and Shelley will both speak starting at 5 p.m. Feel free to bring a friend!
This will also be an opportunity to commit your time, talent and treasure to Linda’s campaign, so please bring your questions, your checkbook & your calendar!
See you on the 17th!
After you RSVP, you will automatically be redirected to my donation page. There is no cost to attend this event, but please consider making a donation. Thank you!
ABOUT LINDA HABGOOD:
Linda is a committed and active 17 year member of our community. She was co-head of the Citizens Action Committee that advocated for the ‘Centralized Kindergarten Bond’, enabling the creation of Lincoln School in 2005. She has served in a wide variety of leadership positions, including Finance Chair of the Presbyterian Nursery School Board, Fundraising chair of the Westfield HS PTSO, Advisor for the Presbyterian Church High School Mission trips, was a two-time producer of the Washington School Show. She is also a Board Member and active fundraiser for the New Jersey Festival Orchestra, and ran the NYC Triathlon twice to raise close to $70K with her team for cancer research. On Town Council, Linda intends to dive into budgetary and revenue matters: “Our AAA credit rating is both a source of pride and an asset. If wisely used, we can address pressing problems like our downtown.....and look for opportunities to improve services to our citizens while introducing new revenue streams for our town. Raising property taxes can’t always be our answer.”
Linda is a business owner and finance professional. Her financial advisory business raises capital for emerging markets' infrastucture projects and multinational businesses. Her knack for structured finance and problem-solving have enabled her company to close more than $11 billion in transactions for 1000+ clients. Linda has a BA from William and Mary and an MBA from Wharton. She and her husband, Gary Zanfagna, an attorney for Honeywell, have two sons. Phil, who is a freshman at the University of Pennsylvania, and Andrew, a junior at Westfield High School.
